Getting There : Bruny Island is located on the south-east corner of Tasmania. The Bruny Island Ferry departs from the seaside township of Kettering. The ferry carries both passengers and vehicles departing a minimum of ten times daily. There is no need to book. There is no public transport to or on Bruny Island: you will need to bring your own car.

Driving from Hobart to Kettering (45 minutes):
Follow Davey Street onto the Southern Outlet (A6) towards Kingston. Follow the signs to the Bruny Island Ferry, along the Channel Highway. Once you are in Kettering, turn left onto Ferry Road.

Ferry Crossing from Kettering to Bruny Island:
The queue for the ferry is at the end of Ferry Road in Kettering.
The ferry crossing takes 15 minutes and is $30 return for a standard vehicle, payable with cash.

Driving from the Ferry to Alonnah (30 minutes):
Continue straight on to Bruny Island Main Road (B66) for about 36K. Turn right on to Stuart Street. Discover Bruny Island Accommodation will be on your left.

You will need to self cater. The property features a full kitchen with fridge, microwave, freestanding cooktop and oven. The deck features a 4 burner BBQ so it is easy to prepare great meals at the property.

You may want to purchase your supplies before you travel to the island at one of the main supermarkets the closest being at Kingston. The island does have general stotres at Alonnah and at Adventure Bay if you forgot anything.

You may also wish to try the many fine food establishments on the island such as the Bruny Island Cheese Company, Berry Farm, Bruny Island Premium Wines or enjoy a great restaurant meal at Hotel Bruny (less than five minute drive from the property) which has the islands only liquor store.
