Formerly Pelican Point Sanctuary, Lawsons Retreat is an 87-acre nature haven offering guests a choice between a charming cottage and a luxurious five-star Californian villa. Our property features several walking trails that span over 4 kilometers of shoreline. Enjoy a stroll along Long Arm Creek, explore Pine Tree Point, and visit our bird hide.

Upon arrival, guests will find a set of binoculars and a bird guide on the coffee table. For those new to bird watching, we offer a specialized bird app to help identify some of the 48 bird species that frequently nest and reside here.

We are just a 2-minute drive from the township of St Helens and a 10-minute drive from the renowned Bay of Fires. Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi and guest laundry facilities are available, ideal for catching up after exploring the Overland Track or the Bay of Fires Walk.

Parking spaces are located either directly out front or adjacent to all our accommodation. There are usually two car parks available and or space for a trailer.


Getting There :

From St Helens, take Binalong Bay Road to Bay of Fires, two km from St Helens central you will see the entrance driveway of Lawsons Retreat on your right. 400 m Before the entrance you are alerted on the left by a blue tourist sign. Be careful with following traffic, turn into our driveway and follow a short gravel road to where you see 3 accommodation units on the right, these are; Kingfisher, Kookaburra and Blue Wren. Slightly further on the left you see first Sandpiper and Pink Robin, then Heron and finally Pelican near the end of the driveway.

All accommodation is fully self contained and have a kitchen or kitchenette. Restaurants and eateries are only a few minutes drive away in St Helens.

Booking Policy

Your booking is confirmed when we receive the 50% deposit for your reservation total. A booking confirmation email will be send, followed by a self check-in email one day prior to your arrival.

Cancellation Policy

For a 100% refund your cancellation must be received 2 full days prior to your day of arrival. A cancellation received after that is 50% refundable.

Checkin Policy

1 day before arrival you receive by email your self check-in details. All necessary info for your stay is placed inside a folder on the coffee table; it has your wifi password, bird app and list of recorded bird sightings, walks on the property, general emergency info and our recommendations for eating. For questions call or sms 0408 753372. I reside in the last apartment at the end of the driveway, next to the double garage.

Child Policy

Children older than 5 years are welcome. To see correct prices and occupancy information, please add the number of children in your group and their ages to your search. Cot and extra bed policies Cots and extra beds are not available at this property.

Deposit Policy

A 50% deposit of your total reservation cost is required at the time of booking and we charge the balance 2 days prior to your arrival. We accept American Express, Visa and MasterCard without fees or charges.

No-show Policy

No shows will be charged in full.
