Pelican Point Sanctuary
Pelican Point Sanctuary is a unique wetland and grassland 87 acre property located 2 kilometres from St Helens, on the road to Bay of Fires, Tasmania. We offer a diverse range of accommodation ranging from 'Blue Wren Cottage', nestled among the trees to villas with floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise your exposure to nature and silence. All the accommodation is self-contained. The property shares a 3 kilometre frontage with Georges Bay conservation area, a further two frontages are shared with the George River and the waterway of Grannies Gut, so bring your kayak. There are three short walks on the property where you can spot some of the 43 species of bird living/nesting here, Take the 10 minute one way walk to our private bird hide.

1. Kingfisher Residence
Kingfisher is a comfortable 1980's, 3 bedroom, two bathroom house with a partly fenced rear garden and ample parking for trailers, campers etc. There is a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area and a private outdoor area with bbq. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, television, wardrobe and ensuite. Bedrooms two and three are a double and twin respectively, both with built-in wardrobes.

2. Kookaburra Loft
Kookaburra, two of the three bedrooms are located on ground level and bedroom one with a queen bed is located in the loft. Bedroom two has a double bed and wardrobe and bedroom three contains two single beds and a wardrobe. A modest living/dining area and a small self-contained kitchen. There is one bathroom with walk in tiled shower and the toilet is located in this room :)

Egret with three bedrooms and two bathrooms can comfortably accommodate six people. There is a generous open-plan living kitchen area that has floor to ceiling windows/doors onto the adjacent deck. The large bedroom one retreat has a king bed, separate bathroom and private outdoor deck. Bedroom two and three have queen beds and wardrobes, additionally there is a separate bathroom and toilet room.

Platypus has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, together with a generous open plan kitchen/living dining space. Bedroom one is a queen size bed, television and the ensuite has a walk-in tiled shower. Bedroom two has a king bed that can be split for single sleepers, wardrobe and a television. Adjacent a walk-in tiled shower bathroom. This villa has sweeping views of the property out to Georges Bay. Borrow our Pelican Point binoculars and walk out to the property bird hide, a 10-minute walk one-way.

All Residences or Villas are fully self contained with their own kitchen or kitchenette. Kookaburra Chalet, Blue Wren Cottage and Robin do not have dishwashers. Blue Wren has a cooktop and microwave however no oven.

Booking Policy

Deposit Policy
A first night deposit is required at the time of booking. We will process the payment from your credit card and any outstanding balance is to be paid a week prior to arrival.
The amount charged is calculated on the information given, and additional charges may be payable if guest numbers vary.

Cancellation Policy
14 days notice of cancellation is required, otherwise you are liable for the balance of the booking. All deposits are non refundable.

Children welcome. We do not provide highchairs or cots for infants :)
