Dark Sky Eco Retreat

The BANKSIA Lodge has just become available for the April New Moon. Arrive on the 27th April and stay through the 1st of May is a sensational dark sky Milky Way viewing opportunity.

Darkest nights are around the New Moon but we rate skywatching from 3 days after the full moon to 3 days after the new moon.

Here are some dates as a guide:

April 16th - 1st March Milky Way Uranus Jupiter Mars Orion Nebula and Magellanic Clouds

May 16th - 30th May Milky Way Deep sky objects and Magellanic Clouds

Dark Sky Eco Retreat luxurious yurt-style lodges nestled in woodlands with views of the Emu paddocks. The Banksia has 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 people in 3 queen beds and The Grevillea sleeps 4 people in 2 queen beds.

The retreat is totally "off grid". The private lodges boast all the creature comforts you need including queen sized comfortable beds, a spacious living area, well-appointed kitchen and separate dining room. You can book an Emu Safari or a Sky watching experience from our onsite private observatory.

To book the SKYWATCHING experience or the EMU SAFARI select ADDON and nominate the number of guests over 16 to be included. Guests under 16 are free.

Both lodges have outdoor spas overlooking the park and the Emus.

Guests can stay connected with free STARLINK very fast internet. Smart TVs deliver many apps for you to sign in on. Foxtel is available at the Banksia Lodge and Foxtel Go at the Grevillea Lodge.

Wi-Fi internet is available as part of the booking and both lodges have Telstra mobile phone booster coverage that varies from 3G to 4G depending on weather and signal strength from the service provider towers.

Dining

Stays can be self catered or Jessica from Feathers Cafe can provide catering for your entire stay or you can mix and match.

When you have made your booking our confirmation email will provide the contact details for Jessica where you can request the latest menu and make your selection.

Booking Policy

Bookings are taken on line or via phone

Deposit Policy

A $200.00 deposit is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due at least 14 days prior to arrival.

PAY BY EFT. If you wish to pay by EFT after filling in your details in the payment section select DEPOSIT then in payment method select BANK TRANSFER from the drop down menu.

After you hit PROCEED your booking will be confirmed and you can then make your EFT to the banking details shown on your booking confirmation.

If you want to make the deposit payment on your credit card select DEPOSIT and you will be charged the deposit amount plus the fee only.

If you select the full amount for the stay it will be deducted from your credit card immediately.

Cancellation Policy

We are a small business and cancellations affect us greatly.

If you cancel a booking you will only receive a refund if the dates are booked by us to another guest for the same value (a $100 administration fee would apply). You will be charged the total of the reserved stay under all circumstances.

No Show Policy

No refunds will be offered in case of no shows.

Child Policy

All children are welcome. They must be under adult supervision at all times.

Other Policy

After 10pm all noise is to be kept inside with doors closed. Disturbance to residents on the property, guests and neighbours (including excessive noise and music) is prohibited at any time of the day or night and may result in eviction without refund.

We do not accept Schoolies, hens or bucks event reservations. Minimum length of stay restrictions apply to certain rates during special event periods. Rates quoted are in Australian dollars and are subject to change at any time. Rates are inclusive of GST where applicable. Any verbal quote given is an estimate of price only, which is subject to written advice on booking confirmation.
